Kuta, beritaterkini.co.id – Memasuki era digitalisasi dan berkembangnya industri online yang semakin pesat mendorong sejumlah pengguna platform WordPress dari Komunitas WordPress Bali menyelenggarakan meetup dan sharing mengenai bagaimana langkah awal dalam membangun sebuah thema wordpress. Meetup dengan topik “Create a Theme in WordPress #1” diadakan di Kembali Innovation Hub, Jalan Sunset Road Seminyak Kuta, Jumat (13/12/2019).

Salah satu pembicara yang hadir Niels Lange membagikan sejumlah tips dari pengalamannya sebagai developer dan juga kendala-kendala yang sering dialami oleh pemula maupun oleh mereka yang sudah profesional sekalipun dalam membangun sebuah tema WordPress.

Menurut Niels, WordPress adalah sebuah platform blogging yang menyediakan sebuah CMS (Content Management System) yang bisa diunduh di wordpress.org secara gratis dan pengembangan dan pengelolaannya tidak dikoordinasi serta dikontrol oleh seorang individu atau sebuah lembaga pusat saja (open source).

“karena open source maka pengembangan dan pengelolaannya dikoordinasi oleh pengguna yang saling bekerja sama dalam penggunaan source code (kode sumber) yang tersedia bebas dan dapat diakses atau dimodifikasi oleh siapa pun,” ujar Niels.

Niels Lange

Niels Lange dikenal banyak membantu kalangan awam dan menengah dalam mewujudkan ide dan visi menjadi sebuah thema WordPress dan aplikasi WooCommerce yang dibuat khusus. Setelah studinya dalam ilmu komputer di Jerman selesai, ia pindah ke Belanda dan bekerja untuk beberapa perusahaan sebagai pengembang web dan analis bisnis. Sejak pertengahan 2014 dia telah melakukan kunjungan ke negara-negara Asia Tenggara untuk memberi literasi di sejumlah forum tentang platform WordPress.

Sementara itu Rohit Sethia, yang menjadi pembicara utama menerangkan langkah awal proses pembuatan sebuah thema WordPress mulai dari menyiapkan struktur(layout), configurasi, sampai pada fungsi coding yang menurutnya sangat mudah dilakukan.

Ratri Priyanggono sebagi Event host berharap meetup seperti ini bisa menjadi event reguler sehingga lebih banyak yang bisa di-share diatara komunitas.

“WordPress ini besar karena komunitasnya, kita saling berbagi pengalaman dan pengetahuan,” ujar Ratri.

Ratri juga menyampaikan terimakasih kepada anggota komunitas yang sudah hadir, dan berharap diantara anggota komunitas ada yang bersedia menjadi volunteer WordPress WordCamp yang rencananya akan dilangsungkan tahun 2020 di Bali.
