Wakil Bupati Banyuwangi Widyatmoko, S.Sos. mengatakan, “Dalam rangka acara petik laut muncar kali ini, dimasa pandemi covid-19, kami dihadapkan kepada suatu pilihan yang mana menentukan suatu kebijakan mengijinkan atau mentiadakan petik laut dimasa pandemi covid-19 dikarenakan ini adalah perintah pemerintah pusat maupun daerah antara dengan adat budaya yang harus dilestarikan, maka kami mengambil keputusan dengan bijaksana untuk turut hadir bersama-sama di tengah-tengah masyarakat Banyuwangi guna melestarikan adat budaya peninggalan leluhur kita.” ucapnya.
