Ternyata minat wartawan di Pulau Dewata mengikuti orientasi anggota dan Karya Latihan Wartawan (KLW) cukup tinggi.
Sebagai bukti sedikitnya 106 wartawan mengikuti Orientasi Anggota & Karya Latihan Wartawan (KLW) di Gedung PWI Bali, Jalan Mataram, pada Jumat (28/8/2020) yang digelar oleh PWI Bali.
Ketua PWI Bali IGMB Dwikora Putra mengemukakan bahwa kegiatan itu merupakan salah satu implementasi dari Hasil Kongres PWI tahun 2018 di Solo bahwa calon anggota PWI wajib mengikuti Orientasi Anggota & Karya Latihan Wartawan (KLW).
Pada kesempatan itu Dwikora berharap para calon anggota tidak hanya mencari rumah tetapi juga mampu memberi kehidupan pada rumahnya sehingga mampu mempertanggungjawabkan keanggotaannya nanti.
Untuk membangun profesionalisme wartawan dalam mewujudkan “Pers Bermutu Bangsa Maju”.
Ketua Panitia Emanuel Dewata Oja melaporkan, dari 106 peserta, 80% berasal dari wartawan media online, lainnya berasal dari media cetak dan elektronik.
Edo — sapaan akrab Emanuel Dewata Oja — memaparkan bahwa acara itu merupakan kali pertama PWI menerima wartawan media online mengingat perkembangan media online yang begitu pesat.
Ia menekankan para peserta harus berasal dari media pers yang telah berbadan hukum pers. Hal itu sejalan dengan UU RI No. 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers.
Pada kegiatan ini sejumlah materi diberikan kepada peserta yakni Kode Etik dalam UU No. 40/1999, Pedoman Penulisan Media Siber (PPMS) dan Pedoman Pemberitaan Ramah Anak.
Turut hadir Direktur PT Jimbaran Hijau, Putu Agung Prianta. Agung Primata umemberikan motivasi kepada para wartawan junior agar tetap semangat maju terus dalam menjaga independent dan profesionalisme sehingga mampu melahirkan berita-berita yang positif dan inspiratif di tengah pandemi.(Red/Aj)
