Jelang penyelenggaraan pemilihan kepala daerah (pilkada) tahun 2020, Menteri BUMN yang juga Ketua Komite Penanganan Covid-19 dan Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional (KPCPEN) Erick Thohir menegaskan pentingnya gotong royong dan penegakan protokol kesehatan di kehidupan masyarakat dan penyelenggaraan pilkada serentak 2020.
Dalam acara Pencanangan Operasi Yustisi Penggunaan Masker dan Pilkada 2020 yang Aman, Damai dan Sehat yang dilaksanakan Kamis (10/9) di Polda Metro Jaya.
Erick mengatakan pemerintah saat ini terus berupaya menekan angka kasus dan fatality rate (kematian) agar berangsur membaik.
Hal ini menurutnya menjadi tanggung jawab bersama semua pihak, mulai dari KPU, Bawaslu termasuk para kontestan yang akan bertarung dalam pilkada.
“Tolong dipastikan, bahwa suksesnya pilkada jangan menjadi kegagalan penanganan Covid-19.
Karena tidak ada artinya, sukses pilkada tetapi penanganan Covid gagal,” tegas Ketua Pelaksana KPCPEN Erick Thohir.
Erick juga meminta para kontestan pilkada, mendukung upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah dalam menjaga fatality rate di tengah-tengah masyarakat, meskipun sedang bersaing dalam kontestasi pilkada. “Ini tanggung jawab bersama, dan pemimpin sejati adalah pemimpin yang bertanggung jawab pada masyarakat,” ujar Erick Thohir.
Ia melanjutkan, “Dalam tren-nya sendiri, fatality (rate) kita baik, dari 9% di bulan April terus menurun menjadi 4% (Agustus), tetapi dibandingkan grafik (rata-rata) yang ada di dunia, kita masih lebih tinggi (persentasenya).”
”Sungguh kehilangan besar, bahwa karena Covid-19, ada anak yang kehilangan orang tuanya, orang tua kehilangan anaknya, dan suami yang kehilangan istrinya, dan sebaliknya.
Bahkan dalam skala bernegara, negara telah kehilangan orang-orang terbaiknya, pemikir terbaiknya, para tenaga kesehatan, yang demikian berharga, dan semuanya tidak mudah tergantikan,” tambahnya.
Karenanya pemerintah pusat bersama pemerintah daerah berikut masyarakatnya harus menjaga agar penyebaran Covid-19 terkendali dan tren kesembuhan terus membaik. Memang diakuinya tidaklah mudah. “Tetapi kalau kita bergotong royong, Insya Allah bisa,” tegas Erick. (Red/Aj)
