Bersama rombongan terbatas, Kepala Negara lepas landas menuju Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara dengan Pesawat Kepresidenan Indonesia-1 melalui Pangkalan TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma sekira pukul 07.00 WIB.
Setibanya di Bandar Udara Internasional Silangit, Tapanuli Utara, Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam rangka kunjungan kerja pada Selasa, 27 Oktober 2020, Presiden langsung menuju Desa Ria-Ria, Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan dengan menempuh jalur darat.
Di lokasi tersebut, Presiden Joko Widodo akan meninjau perkembangan pembangunan kawasan lumbung pangan (food estate) baru yang nantinya akan dikembangkan pertanian modern berbasis hortikultura.
