KARO – BERITATERKINI.CO.ID – Ketua Federasi Arung Jeram Indonesia (FAJI) Sumatera Utara (Sumut) Ir H Soekirman bertekad Cabang Olahraga Arung Jeram akan menjadi kebanggaan pada Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) Tahun 2024 yang akan diselenggarakan bersama di Sumut dan Aceh.
Hal itu disampaikan Soekirman di sela-sela kegiatan Musyawarah Olahraga Provinsi (Musorprov) Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Sumut tahun 2021 di Hotel Mutiara Berastagi, Jalan Peceren, Berastagi, Karo, Rabu (27/1).
“Ya kita bertekad pada PON 2024 nanti Arum Jeram akan menjadi kebanggaan bagi masyarakat Sumut”, ungkap Soekirman yang juga Bupati Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) ini.
Tekad ini memang tidak muluk-muluk, mengingat atlet-atlet FAJI sudah memiliki pengalaman yang panjang dalam berbagai event baik internasional maupun Nasional.
“Dengan pengalaman kami yang telah mengukir prestasi dalam berbagai event seperti di Abudabi 2016, Jepang 2017, PON 19 Jawa Barat, dan event lain”, ungkap Soekirman lagi.
Dalam PON 2024 nanti FAJI Sumut juga akan bertekad untuk memborong medali yang akan diperebutkan.
“Kita sudah menargetkan untuk medali, InsyaAllah 8 medali minimal akan kita dapatkan, dari 16 berbagai cabang yang diperlombakan”, tegas Ketua FAJI Sumut.
Musorprov Sumut ini sendiri membahas 3 agenda antara lain evaluasi program tahun 2017 hingga 2021, penyusunan program 2021-2025 hingga pemilihan Ketua KONI Sumut 2021-2025.
Gubernur Sumut Edy Rahmayadi hadir membuka musyawarah. Hadir juga Ketua DPRD Sumut Baskami Ginting, Ketua KONI Aceh Muzakir Manaf, Ketua KONI Pusat Marciano Norman, Ketua KONI Sumut John Ismadi Lubis dan Plt Kepala Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Sumut Baharuddin Siagian.
