BPI KPNPA RI Minta Kapolda Sumut Segera Tangkap Mafia Judi, Yang Diduga Bakar Rumah Keluarga Wartawan di Binjai

Beritaterkini.co.id. Ketua BPI KPNPA RI Wilayah Sumatra Utara Mayor Purn Johnson Situmorang .SH meminta Kapolda Sumatera Utara Irjen Pol RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak untuk menangkap para mafia judi yang telah meresahkan masyarakat di Sumatra Utara

Apalagi, saat ini perjudian di Sumatera Utara kian marak. Hal itu dibuktikan banyaknya pemberitaan di media massa baik online, cetak serta elektronik.

Bahkan, dampaknya wartawan beserta keluarganya juga menjadi sasaran para mafia judi yang gerah dengan pemberitaan yang disajikan. Seperti kejadian yang menimpa keluarga wartawan di Binjai, Minggu (13/06/2021) dinihari.

BPI KPNPA Propinsi Sumatra Utara merasa prihatin dengan adanya aksi pembakaran rumah orang tua wartawan di Binjai yang diduga dilakukan orang suruhan toke judi. Kita berharap Kapolda Sumut harus mengusut tuntas dan menangkap para mafia judi tersebut,” tegas Johnson Situmorang kepada awak media , Minggu (13/06/2021).

Hal ini disampaikannya terkait kejadian yang dialami Sabarsyah (65) yang beralamat di Jalan Bantara Raya, Lingkungan XII, Kelurahan Berngam, Kecamatan Binjai Kota, dibakar oleh Orang Tidak Dikenal (OTK), Minggu (13/6) dinihari, sekira pukul 00.05 WIB, diduga terkait pemberitaan judi.

Johnson Situmorang menambahkan, segala bentuk perjudian jelas melanggar hukum dan dilarang untuk beroperasi. Apalagi menyakiti wartawan yang memberitakan adanya perjudian. Sebab, wartawan dilindungi oleh UU Pers No 40 Tahun 1999, dalam menjalankan kinerjanya sebagai kontrol sosial dan dalam melaksanakan profesinya, wartawan mendapat perlindungan hukum.

Kata dia, pemberitaan wartawan terkait perjudian merupakan suatu kewajiban karena kegiatan ilegal itu melanggar hukum. Sebab, jika tidak para mafia judi akan membentuk persekutuan atau perhimpunan yang akan menjadi ancaman bagi kehidupan masyarakat. “Kapolda Sumut harus memberantas tuntas segala bentuk perjudian berikut para mafianya,” ujarnya.

Johnson Situmorang juga menyebutkan, wartawan sudah benar dan harus berani memberitakan perjudian karena secara undang-undang hukum Indonesia dilarang, bukan sebaliknya membackup atau membeking perjudian tersebut.

“Kita ketahui, segala bentuk judi membuat orang terlena dan semakin miskin bukan menjadi kaya. Selain itu merusak mental,” jelasnya.

Untuk itu, lanjut Johnson Situmorang , BPI KPNPA RI Sumut mendukung Kapolda Sumut untuk membasmi segala bentuk perjudian di Sumut. “Kita sebagai warga masyarakat tidak boleh membiarkan ketimpangan ini. Kita harus menegakkan amar makruf nahi mungkar. Segala bentuk kekerasan kepada wartawan harus kita lawan, karena kita bekerja dilindungi UU Pers No.40 tahun 1999. Kita dari Satgas BPI KPNPA RI siap membackup kepolisian untuk membasmi perjudian di Sumut,” Tegas Mayor Purn Johnson Situmorang SH
