Peristiwa kecelakaan tersebut melibatkan kereta api dan balita.
Akibat kecelakaan tersebut balita yang baru berusia 1 tahun 7 bulan tewas mengenaskan.
Kecelakaan maut mengenaskan terjadi di Lampung Selatan. BI, seorang balita berusia 1 tahun 7 bulan tewas tertabrak kereta api batu bara di Lampung Selatan, Rabu (17/11/2021) pagi.
Humas PT KAI Divre IV Tanjung Karang Jaka Jakarsih mengatakan, peristiwa itu terjadi di Dusun Srimulyo, Kelurahan Pemanggilan, Kecamatan Natar, Lampung Selatan, atau di KM 22+6/7 Stasiun Gedung Ratu.
Awalnya, KA batu bara rangkaian panjang (Babaranjang) 3066a melakukan perjalanan dari Bandar Lampung menuju arah Kotabumi (Lampung Utara) pada pukul 08.12 WIB.
KA Babaranjang kemudian membunyikan semboyan (klakson) ketika memasuki Stasiun Gedung Ratu di jalur 2 KA KM 22+6/7.
Namun, di saat bersamaan, korban merangkak di atas jalur tersebut hingga tertabrak kereta.
Korban tewas di lokasi kejadian dengan kondisi mengenaskan.
Jaka mengatakan, pihaknya sudah berkoordinasi dengan sejumlah pihak terkait termasuk Jasa Raharja dan Polsek Natar atas peristiwa tersebut.
“Kami mengucapkan belasungkawa mendalam kepada keluarga korban yang ditinggalkan,” kata Jaka, dalam keterangan tertulis, Rabu.
Jaka berharap dan mengimbau kepada masyarakat di sekitar lokasi jalur kereta untuk mengawasi anak-anak mereka saat bermain di dekat rel kereta api.
