MEDAN – BERITATERKINI.CO.ID – Sudah sebulan lebih warga di seputaran Sungai Belutu Sei Rampah dan Sungai Padang Tebing Tinggi terendam banjir. Warga sudah sangat menderita dengan banjir ini. Berharap keseriusan Kepala Balai Wilayah Sungai Sumatera II (BWSS-II) melakukan normalisasi Sungai Belutu dan Sungai Padang agar banjir tak kembali berulang.
Demikian disampaikan Anggota DPRD Sumatera Utara (Sumut) Azmi Sitorus kepada awak media melalui saluran telepon, Selasa (8/12/2021).
Anggota DPRD Sumut dari Partai Gerindra ini sangat prihatin melihat kondisi warga yang rumahnya terendam banjir. Sudah sebulan lebih harus tinggal di tenda pengungsian, tidak bisa mencari nafkah, dan hidup dalam keprihatinan.
“Kondisi seperti ini terus mereka alami berulang pada setiap musim penghujan. Kita sangatlah prihatin. Kedepan saya berharap negara dapat hadir mengatasi persoalan banjir yang menahun ini”, tegas Azmi yang berdapil di Sergai dan Tebing ini.
Lanjut Azmi, saat ini yang dibutuhkan adalah aksi nyata dari BWSS-II dalam menangani banjir ini, bukan retorika.
“Saya meminta BWSS-II serius dan tidak main-main dalam menangani persoalan banjir di Sergai dan Tebing Tinggi ini. Kita perlu aksi nyata dari BWSS-II dalam mengatasi banjir di Sumut ini, terutama di Tebing Tinggi dan Sergai. Jangan sampai kedepan hal ini terjadi. Kasihan betul masyarakat kita ini”, ungkap Azmi Sitorus yang dikenal kritis di DPRD ini.
Sebagai anggota DPRD, Azmi siap mensupport upaya pemerintah dalam hal ini BWSS-II bila serius melakukan berbagai program penanganan banjir. BWSS-II tidak bisa bekerja sendiri.
“Sekarang ini kita tidak bisa jadi ” Superman” bekerja sendiri tanpa berkolaborasi dengan pihak lain. Kita harus jadi “Supertim” untuk bekerja bersama dalam menanggulangi banjir ini. Jangan sampai menutup komunikasi dan koordinasi dengan pihak terkait, khususnya kepada DPRD Sumut, tutup Azmi Sitorus.
