Optimalkan PPDB Tahun 2024, SMA Negeri 17 Palembang Terima 360 Peserta Didik

Palembang, beritaterkini.co.id -Erhanudin MPd, Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kesiswaan SMA Negeri 17 Palembang, mengumumkan bahwa sekolah ini tengah melaksanakan proses Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) tahun 2024 dengan mengikuti prosedur yang sama seperti sekolah reguler lainnya. PPDB di SMA Negeri 17 Palembang dilakukan melalui empat jalur penerimaan, yaitu afirmasi, mutasi, zonasi, dan prestasi. Selasa (22/05/2024)

Pada jalur afirmasi mempunyai kuota sebesar 15%, Jalur ini ditujukan bagi calon siswa yang memiliki latar belakang kurang mampu, memberikan kesempatan bagi mereka untuk mendapatkan pendidikan berkualitas.

Untuk Jalur mutasi mempunyai kuota 5% yang memungkinkan siswa yang orang tuanya pindah tugas ke Palembang untuk tetap melanjutkan pendidikan tanpa hambatan.

Adapun jalur zonasi, yang merupakan jalur dengan jumlah pendaftar terbanyak, mencapai 462 orang. Dari jumlah tersebut, 412 orang telah terverifikasi dan 50 orang lainnya masih dalam proses verifikasi. Jalur zonasi memberi prioritas kepada calon siswa yang berdomisili dekat dengan SMA Negeri 17 Palembang, sesuai kebijakan pemerintah untuk mendekatkan akses pendidikan.

Untuk jalur prestasi, hingga 22 Mei 2024 pukul 11.50 WIB, tercatat 470 pendaftar. Dari jumlah tersebut, 192 orang telah terverifikasi dan 278 orang masih dalam proses verifikasi. Jalur ini memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa yang memiliki prestasi akademik maupun non-akademik untuk melanjutkan pendidikan di SMA Negeri 17 Palembang.

Erhanudin MPd menyatakan bahwa tingginya animo masyarakat dan kepercayaan terhadap SMA Negeri 17 Palembang merupakan hasil dari berbagai program unggulan yang telah berjalan selama ini. Program-program tersebut tidak hanya mendorong prestasi akademik siswa tetapi juga non-akademik, yang terbukti menghasilkan banyak siswa berprestasi.

Salah satu program unggulan yang sangat diandalkan adalah asrama siswa. Fasilitas asrama ini tidak hanya menyediakan tempat tinggal tetapi juga menjadi pusat pendidikan karakter yang mengajarkan kemandirian, kedisiplinan, dan sikap saling menghargai. Program ini sangat membantu siswa untuk mempersiapkan diri melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, terutama di Pulau Jawa.

“Kita berusaha asrama akan dipertahankan,” ujar Erhanudin.

Namun, ia juga menyatakan bahwa dengan sistem PPDB yang baru diterapkan tahun ini, pihak sekolah berencana untuk mengundang orang tua siswa untuk membicarakan lebih lanjut mengenai masalah asrama.

Peranan orang tua juga sangat diharapkan dalam mendukung berbagai program yang telah dijalankan di SMA Negeri 17 Palembang. Dukungan orang tua sangat penting untuk keberhasilan siswa, baik dalam bidang akademik maupun pengembangan karakter.

Dengan berbagai jalur penerimaan yang tersedia, SMA Negeri 17 Palembang terus berkomitmen untuk menyediakan pendidikan berkualitas dan berupaya mempertahankan program-program unggulan yang telah terbukti mendatangkan banyak prestasi bagi siswa. Komitmen ini diharapkan dapat terus meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap SMA Negeri 17 Palembang sebagai salah satu sekolah unggulan di kota ini. (**)
