Peringatan Hari Pangan Sedunia 2020 yang jatuh pada hari ini Jumat (16/10) memiliki makna tersendiri bagi Kaopspus Aman Nusa II 2020 yang juga Kabaharkam Polri Komjen Pol Agus Andrianto.
Kepada awak media, Jenderal Bintang 3 kelahiran Blora ini kembali mengungkapkan pentingnya ketahanan dan kemandirian pangan.
“Pangan itu soal hidup matinya suatu Negara”, ujar Komjen Pol Agus.
Saat ini Pandemi Covid-19 masih berlanjut dan memberikan pelajaran kepada kita semua, masa-masa yang tidak pasti ini telah membuat orang menghidupkan kembali penghargaan untuk sesuatu yang mungkin dianggap remeh yaitu makanan.
“Ekosistem keamanan terganggu, apabila kita kekurangan pangan”, ujar Komjen Agus.
Mempertahankan dan menyediakan akses ke makanan yang aman, sehat dan bergizi akan terus menjadi bagian penting dari respons terhadap pandemi Covid-19, terutama bagi masyarakat miskin dan rentan, yang paling terpukul oleh pandemi dan guncangan ekonomi.
“Ketersediaan pangan baik dari kuantitas dan kualitas itu juga index menuju negara maju”, tegas Komjen Agus.
Lebih lanjut Komjen Agus mengatakan bahwa saat ini masih banyak lahan-lahan tidak produktif yang dibiarkan saja.
“Sampai kapan kita akan bergantung dengan negara lain, apalagi urusan pangan, kapan lagi kita bisa mandiri kalau tidak saat ini”, ujar Komjen Agus.
Masih menurut Komjen Agus, melalui momentum peringatan Hari Pangan Sedunia 2020 ini mari kita bangun ketahanan pangan dari lingkup terkecil, yaitu rumah tangga dengan memanfaatkan lahan kosong atau pekarangan, serta memanfaatkan lahan-lahan tidak produktif menjadi lahan produktif.
“Selamat Hari Pangan Sedunia 2020, mari kita wujudkan ketahanan pangan untuk Indonesia maju”, tutup Komjen Agus.
Tanggal peringatan Hari Pangan Sesunia diambil sesuai dengan hari berdirinya Asosiasi Pangan dan Pertanian Organisasi Persatuan Bangsa-Bangsa (FAO) pada 16 Oktober 1945.
Tujuan diperingati hari ini adalah tercipta kesadaran tentang adanya masalah obesitas dan gizi buruk akibat kelaparan.
FAO sendiri mengangkat tema ‘Tanam, Pelihara, Lestarikan Bersama’ untuk Hari Pangan Sedunia tahun 2020. (Red/Aj)
