Kuta, Berita Terkini – Film dokumenter ‘Bali: Beats of Paradise’ tayang perdana dibioskop-bioskop seluruh Indonesia. di Bali, acara penayangan perdananya dihadiri Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga Imam Nahrawi, Wagub Bali Cok Ace, Sutradara dan Produser, serta sejumlah crew yang terlibat dalam proses pembuatan di Trans Studio Mall jalan Imam Bonjol Kuta, Kamis (22/8/2019).
Imam Nahrawi yang dimintai komentarnya usai menyaksikan film besutan Livi Zheng ini mengatakan bahwa dengan beragam macam budaya bangsa Indonesia masyarakatnya walau dimanapun harus tetap dalam satu bingkai kesatuan serta merasa memiliki budaya dan menjaga tradisinya.
“Melaui filem ini kita pelajari sehingga walau kita berada dimanapun kita tetap dalam satu bingkai dan memiliki rasa yang mendalam terhadap budaya dan tradisi kita, gamelan tidak hanya menjadi milik Bali, tapi milik dunia,” ujar mam Nahrawi.
Dia juga berusaha terus mendorong agar sisi lain Indonesia juga diangkat melaui wadah seperti pada film ini. “Olahraga pecak silat yang besar berakar dari Indonesia juga bisa difilmkan dan budaya dari lain bisa di kembangkan, Livi akan mengispirasi sineas-sineas muda untuk terus melahirkan karya-karya kreatifnya,” pungkas Imam.
Dalam film ini diceritakan bagaimana Wenten mengenal dan menekuni instrumen tradisional Gamelan Bali sejak kecil. Diceritakan juga hingga akhirnya ia merantau dan menetap di Los Angeles. Di Amerika Serikat Wenten mengajar di tiga sekolah: di Departemen Jurusan Etnomusikologi UCLA, Herb Alpert School of Music, dan California Institute of the Arts. Wenien dan istrinya (Nanik Wenten) memang memiliki mimpi dan berusaha memperkenalkan Budaya Gamelan Bali dalam kancah dunia internasional.
“Saya bangga sekali film ini bisa diputar diseluruh bioskop di Indonesia, selama 35 tahun merantau saya selalu berkeinginan untuk mengenalkan kesenian Bali, umumnya Indonesia, saya berterima kasih kepada sutradara Livi Zheng yang sudah membuat film ini dan tertarik pada perjalanan hidup saya dari kecil didunia seni sampai mengajar di Amerika,” ujar Nyoman Wenten.
Hill dan Wenten bekerja bersama di studio mengerjakan “Queen of the Hill”, sebuah lagu yang memadukan musik funk dan gamelan. Mereka memutuskan untuk membuat video klip yang diambil di Joshua Tree Desert, California Selatan. Video klip tersebut adalah kaleidoskop dari musik funk dan tarian tradisional Bali.
Alasan LIvi Zheng mengangkat Gamelan Bali karena suara instrumen tersebut kerap dimasukkan dalam film-film Hollywood sebagai pengiring adegan. Sebut saja Film Avatar, Star Trek (TV Seri), dan bahkan mucul juga dalam Game Mario Bros. Sayangnya, tidak banyak orang asing yang tahu berasal dari manakah suara gamelan, dan seperti apakah seni gamelan itu sesungguhnya.
“Saya ingin terus memperkenalkan Indonesia dan budaya Bali di kancah international dan untuk orang Indonesia sendiri melalui filem ini bisa lebih mencintai kebudayaan dan kesenian Indonesia karena sebetulnya kebudayaan dan kesenian Indonesia itu sangat unik dan hebat, melalui film ini harapan saya kepada masyarakat indonesia yang berada diluar agar mengenal lebih lagi budaya Indonesia, untuk generasi muda di Indonesia agar lebih mencintai kebudayaan dan kesenian Indonesia, because It’s so amazing, we have so many different cultures, so many different arts and we need to share this to the world,” ujar Livi mengakhiri.
