Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak kembali mulai melakukan penyekatan di akses Jembatan Suramadu, arah Surabaya menuju Madura.
Penyekatan ini dilaksanakan personil lintas satuan yang dipimpin Kanit Turjawali Satlantas Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak, Iptu Sunarto.
Saat itu turut serta dalam kegiatan penyekatan ini, anggota Satpol PP dan personil TNI.
Kegiatan penyekatan dikhususkan terhadap kendaraan jenis elf dan bus yang akan melakukan peziarahan ke Madura. Selain itu juga terhadap kendaraan pribadi jenis mobil dengan plat nomor dari luar Surabaya dan Madura.
Pengecekan akan dilakukan untuk mengetahui tujuan masuk ke Madura. Jika terbukti tujuannya untuk berziarah, maka anggota Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak tidak akan mengijinkan kembali melanjutkan perjalanan ke Madura. Selain melakukan penyekatan, bagi penumpang bus dan elf yang diijinkan melanjutkan perjalanan, personil Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak menyampaikan himbauan agar memperhatikan social distancing atau jarak aman antar penumpang
Disamping itu mereka juga dihimbau selalu menggunakan masker dan menghindari kontak fisik dengan orang lain. Diungkapkan Wakapolres Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak, Kompol Ahmad Faisol Amir, S.I.K, M.Si, penyekatan ini dilaksanakan rutin setiap hari untuk mencegah penyebaran virus corona
“Untuk masyarakat asal Madura yang tujuannya mau pulang ke Madura kami ijinkan. Tapi jika dari luar dengan tujuan mau ke Madura untuk ziarah atau menghadiri hajatan, akan langsung kami tolak dan kami minta putar balik,” ujarnya.
