WWW.BERITATERKINI.CO.ID, Dalam upaya meningkatkan ketahanan pangan di wilayah perbatasan negara, Pos Yuruf Satgas Yonif 312/Kala Hitam memanfaatkan lahan kosong untuk menanam berbagai macam sayur-mayur di Kampung Yuruf, Distrik Yaffi.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Dansatgas Yonif 312/KH, Letkol Inf Dedy Ariyanto, S.I.P., M.M., M.Han, M.I.Pol, dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Kabupaten Keerom, Papua, Jumat (2/10/2020).
Diungkapkan Dansatgas, berbekal keterampilan perkebunan di satuan, personel Satgas 312/KH menerapkan keahliannya untuk menghidupkan kembali lahan kosong di sekitar pos untuk dijadikan sebagai lahan produktif.
“Tanah di wilayah ini memiliki potensi yang cukup baik, sangat disayangkan jika kita tidak memanfaatkannya dengan maksimal,” ujarnya.
Dampak Covid-19 memang sangat dirasakan oleh para petani lokal, sehingga permintaan kebutuhan masyarakat tidak mencukupi dari hasil tersebut, sehingga salah satu upaya untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya, Satgas mengajak warga untuk mengolah lahan kosong tersebut untuk dimanfaatkan.
“Dan nantinya hasil panen akan dibagikan secara gratis kepada masyarakat,” terang Dedy Ariyanto.
Di tempat terpisah, Dankipur I Satgas Yonif 312/KH Kapten Inf Rasam mengatakan bahwa untuk mencegah krisis pangan sebagai dampak pandemi Covid-19, Pos Yuruf Satgas melakukan berbagai upaya untuk mengantisipasi agar kekhawatiran itu tidak terjadi.
“Saat ini Satgas menyiasatinya dengan memanfaatkan lahan kosong agar produktif dengan menanami sayur-sayuran seperti kacang pancang, buncis, terong, cabai, sosin, kangkung dan tomat.
Selain menjadi bentuk kemandirian dari prajurit, hasil panen sayuran pun dimanfaatkan untuk membantu masyarakat sekitar secara berkelanjutan,” urainya.
Ditambahkan lagi, kegiatan yang dilakukan personel Satgas ini merupakan bentuk sinergitas kemanunggalan TNI dan rakyat, dalam upaya meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat yang terdampak Covid-19, khususnya di wilayah perbatasan.
“Kegiatan ini sekaligus menyosialisasikan kepada warga mengenai manfaat sayur-mayur dan buah, karena keduanya mengandung vitamin dan mineral, serta serat yang dibutuhkan tubuh setiap hari,” tandasnya.
“Kandungan-kandungan ini tentu dapat memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi dan juga berguna untuk mencegah berbagai macam penyakit,” tutur Rasam. (Red/Aj)
