Nyanyian Kode Burung Ciung-Batu Siul

Pernahkah Sobat bertemu dengan burung hitam berparuh kuning saat berada di curug atau aliran air terjun ?

Ya, itulah burung Ciung-Batu Siul atau “Myophonus caeruleus”. Ia merupakan spesies burung dari keluarga “Turdidae” dan dari genus “Myophonus”.

Biasanya burung ini hidup di habitat dekat sungai besar dan retakan batu atau gua di hutan lebat pada ketinggian 1.250 meter di atas permukaan laut (mdpl).

Nah di tempat seperti itulah pula terdapat satwa kecil macam siput, kumbang besar, tempayak, dan serangga air yang menjadi santapan lezat baginya.

Ia memiliki ukuran tubuh 32 centimeter dengan bulu hitam seluruhnya dan bintik putih pada penutup sayap.

Sedangkan warna sayap dan ekornya keunguan bersinar. Lalu, bulu kepala dan leher berbintik-bintik kecil mengkilap di ujungnya.

Paruhnya kuning ya. Coba sobat cocokan ciri-ciri yang tadi disebutkan dengan foto di atas.

Umumnya ia keluyuran ke tempat terbuka untuk mencari makan di atas tanah pada siang hari.

Namun bila ia merasa terganggu oleh satwa lain maupun kehadiran manusia, ia masuk kembali ke rumah sambil ‘menyanyikan’ kode bahaya.

Nah sekarang sobat tahu nggak bentuk rumah burung Ciung-Batu Siul? Hmm, ia punya sarang berbentuk cawan besar yang terbuat dari batang, akar, dan daun.

Biasanya ia membangun ‘rumah’ di celah tepian sungai yang tersebar di Sumatera dan Jawa.

Oh ya, burung ini biasanya berbiak alias mengarungi bahtera rumah tangga kemudian bertelur pada Oktober sampai April lho.

Wah berarti sekarang ia lagi menikmati indahnya bulan madu ya?😅.
