Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menyampaikan bahwa Indonesia harus bergeser dari negara pengekspor bahan-bahan mentah, salah satunya batu bara, menjadi negara industri yang mampu mengolah bahan mentah menjadi barang setengah jadi maupun barang jadi.
“Ini saya kira strategi besar yang kita harus konsisten untuk menjalankannya,” ujar Presiden saat memimpin Rapat Terbatas mengenai Peningkatan Nilai Tambah Batu Bara, Jumat (23/10) pagi, di Istana Kepresidenan Bogor, Jawa Barat.
Pemerintah, tegasnya, harus bergerak untuk pengembangan industri turunan dari batu bara, mulai dari industri peningkatan mutu (upgrading), pembuatan briket batu bara, pembuatan kokas, pencairan batu bara, gasifikasi batu bara, sampai campuran batu bara-air.
“Saya yakin dengan mengembangkan industri turunan ini, kita akan mampu meningkatkan nilai tambah dari komoditas berkali-kali lipat, mengurangi impor bahan baku yang dibutuhkan beberapa industri dalam negeri, seperti industri baja (dan) industri petrokimia, dan yang tidak kalah pentingnya tentu kita bisa membuka lapangan pekerjaan yang sebanyak-banyaknya,” tegas Presiden.
Untuk itu, Presiden minta agar penyusunan peta jalan atau roadmap peningkatan nilai tambah batu bara tersebut dipercepat.
“Saya minta roadmap optimalisasi pemanfaatan batu bara dalam negeri betul-betul dipercepat dengan penerapan teknologi yang ramah lingkungan,” ujarnya.
Dalam roadmap tersebut, ujarnya, harus ditentukan strategi dan target produk hilir yang akan dikembangkan, berapa banyak yang akan diubah menjadi gas serta berapa banyak akan diubah menjadi produk petrokimia.
“Kemudian juga (lakukan) pemetaan kawasan yang dapat dikembangkan untuk melakukan hilirisasi industri batu bara ini ada di mana saja, sehingga menjadi jelas ke depan strategi besar kita ini seperti apa.
Pastikan wilayah yang memiliki cadangan sumber batubara yang cukup untuk menjamin pasokan kebutuhan batubara dalam proses hilirisasi ini,” imbuhnya (Red/Aj)
