JAYAPURA – BERITATERKINI.co.id – Polisi berhasil menangkap lima orang yang diduga ikut melakukan aksi penyerangan terhadap anggota Brimob. Saat ini mereka sudah ditahan di Mapolres Yahukimo, Papua.
“Memang benar, saat ini sudah lima orang yang ditangkap dan ditahan serta diperiksa penyidik untuk mengungkap sejauh mana keterlibatan mereka,” ujar Kapolda Papua Irjen Paulus Waterpauw seperti dikutip dari Antara, Sabtu (21/12/2019).
Kelimanya ditangkap karena diduga sebagai pemicu hingga terjadi insiden di Dekai yang menewaskan anggota Brimob asal Polda Riau.
Dia menegaskan, Polda Papua sudah mengirimkan tim untuk membantu proses pemulihan keamanan di wilayah tersebut. Tim dipimpin Wadir Lantas Polda Papua, AKBP Ade Jahya, yang juga mantan Kapolres Yahukimo.
Selain itu, Polda Papua mengirim penyidik membantu Reskrim Polres Yahukimo dalam menangani kasus yang terjadi di wilayahnya.
“Secara keseluruhan situasi sudah relatif kondusif, dan tidak ada penambahan pasukan karena personel yang ada dirasakan sudah mencukupi, apalagi dibantu TNI,” sambungnya.
