Pandemi Covid-19 yang masih terus berlanjut mengancam peradaban manusia di muka bumi, karena dampak yang ditimbulkan tidak hanya di sektor kesehatan tapi juga sampai ke sektor ekonomi.
Ancaman krisis pangan juga dilontarkan oleh Badan Pangan Dunia FAO, hal ini tentu menjadi masalah serius bagi seluruh dunia termasuk Indonesia yang memiliki penduduk 267 juta jiwa.
Hal ini disampaikan oleh Kabaharkam Polri Komjen Pol Agus Andrianto selaku Kaopspus Aman Nusa II 2020 dalam keterangan tertulisnya kepada awak media Kamis (24/9) terkait Hari Tani Nasional yang diperingati hari ini.
“Persoalan pertanian dan pangan merupakan persoalan hidup matinya suatu bangsa, apabila pangan tidak terpenuhi maka akan timbul malapetaka”, buka Komjen Agus.
Komjen Agus menyampaikan bahwa Bapak Presiden Jokowi juga menegaskan bahwa penyediaan cadangan pangan nasional adalah agenda penting dan strategis yang harus dilakukan dalam rangka mengantisipasi kondisi krisis pangan akibat pandemi Covid-19 yang sudah berkali-kali diingatkan oleh FAO.
Lebih lanjut Komjen Agus mengatakan untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional, kita tidak bisa bekerja sendiri.
“Pak Kapolri dan Panglima TNI sudah mencanangkan dan mengarahkan kita semua untuk bersinergi membangun ketahanan pangan nasional”, ucap Komjen Agus.
Jenderal bintang 3 kelahiran Blora ini juga menyampaikan bahwa pemeliharaan kamtibmas sangat luas dan berkaitan, ketersediaan pangan salah satunya.
“Acap kali, kelaparan dan kemiskinan menjadi penyebab timbulnya kejahatan, harus bisa kita cegah”, tutur Komjen Agus.
Mantan Kapolda Sumut inj juga menghimbau untuk menjadikan Hari Tani Nasional yang jatuh pada hari ini sebagai momentum membangun ketahanan pangan nasional.
Negeri ini diberkahi oleh Allah SWT, kita diberikan sumber daya alam tapi kita tidak mensyukuri dengan mengelolanya dengan baik, masih sangat banyak lahan-lahan tidak produktif yang dibiarkan, sikap ketergantungan terhadap negara lain harus kita hilangkan, kita harus mampu berdiri di atas kaki kita sendiri, mandiri mengelola sumber daya alam yang dicurahkan untuk bangsa ini.
“Mari bersama-sama kita wujudkan, membangun ketahanan pangan mulai dari keluarga dengan memanfaatkan pekarangan dan lahan tidak produktif, Insya Allah kita bisa keluar dari pandemi ini dan menjadikan kita bangsa yang mandiri khususnya dalam ketersediaan pangan”, tutup Komjen Agus.
Dalam UU No.18/2012 tentang pangan, ketahanan pangan didefinisikan sebagai kondisi terpenuhinya pangan bagi negara sampai dengan perseorangan, yang tercermin dari tersedianya pangan yang cukup, baik jumlah dan mutunya, aman, beragam, bergizi, merata dan terjangkau serta tidak bertentangan dengan agama, keyakinan dan budaya masyarakat, untuk dapat hidup sehat, aktif dan produktif secara berkelanjutan.
