Sudiarsa Boy Arsa Ph.D menyampaikan orasi Ilmiah yang berjudul “Indonesian Labor competence “dihadapan civitas akademika, wisudawan dan wisudawati pada acara Wisuda kedua Institute Executive Hospitality International Bali in Parntership with Pay Resources Kuala  lumpur (Malaysia) pada hari Sabtu tanggal 5 Desember 2020 di Element by Westin Ubud, Bali (Indonesia).

Dalam orasi ilmiah itu Prof. IP. Sudiarsa mengatakan Presiden Jokowi mempunyai komitmen yang kuat untuk membangun sumber daya manusia di Indonesia karena itu pemerintah membuka kesempatan seluas luasnya kepada semua pihak untuk ikut berkontribusi membangun SDM di Indonesia termasuk Institusi Executive Hospitality International Bali in Parntership with Pay Resources Kuala lumpur (Malaysia).

Tenaga Kerja merupakan bagian dari sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang sangat vital untuk dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan kualitasnya karena dengan tenaga kerja yang berkualitas akan mampu bersaing untuk meraih peluang kerja baik ditingkat Internasional maupun di domistik, selain itu juga dengan meningkatnya kualitas SDM potensi sumber daya yang kaya dan berlimpah di Indonesia akan mampu dieksploitasi untuk kemakmuran rakyat dan kemajuan bangsa.

Di era digital dan globalisasi ini Kompetensi tenaga kerja mutlak diperlukan agar dunia usaha bisa meningkatkan produktivitas usahanya sehingga berefek pada kemajuan perusahannya karena tersedianya labor (tenaga kerja) yang kompeten.

Ada tiga kriteria yang perlu diperhatikan untuk mencetak Labor yang kompeten, ketiga hal tersebut adalah Knowledge, skill dan attitude. Karena itu agar lulusan mahasiswa yang akan menjadi calon tenaga kerja di lembaga pendidikan baik itu institut, lembaga pelatihan,akademi, poltek maupun perguruan tinggi agar bisa terserap oleh dunia usaha maka labor tersebut harus kompeten dengan ketiga kriteria di atas.

Profesor bidang Arsitektur ini juga mengatakan paradigma baru terhadap dunia pendidikan yaitu mencetak lulusan yang kompeten akan menjadi kisi bagi orang tua yang akan menyekolahkan anaknya kejenjang yang lebih tinggi untuk memilih lembaga pendidikan yang tepat dan sekaligus menjadi seleksi alam bagi lembaga lembaga pendidikan untuk merekrut mahasiswa baru ke depan, lembaga pendidikan yang tidak berkomitmen terhadap visi paradigma baru tersebut lambat laun akan ditinggalkan oleh masyarakat.
