BANYUMAS, WWW.BERITATERKINI.CO.ID, Sebanyak 12 orang warga binaan Lembaga Permasyarakatan (Lapas) Kelas II A Purwokerto, Jawa Tengah, langsung menghirup udara bebas setelah mendapatkan remisi pada Hari Ulang Tahun ke-75 Republik Indonesia. Bupati Banyumas, Achmad Husein, menyerahkan remisi secara simbolik kepada dua perwakilan warga binaan, Senin (17/08/2020) di Aula Lapas setempat.
Kepala Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (Kalapas) Kelas II A Purwokerto, Ismono mengatakan, Lapas Purwokerto saat ini dihuni sebanyak 608 orang warga binaan yang terdiri dari 564 orang narapidana dan lainya. Menurutnya kasiptas lapas hanya 488 orang.
“Untuk pemberian Remisi Kemerdekaan tahun 2020 ini yang mendapatkan remisi umum sebanyak 426 orang, Remisi I sebanyak 414 orang dan Remisi II sebanyak 12 orang langsung bebas,” katanya.
Bupati Banyumas, Achmad Husein, mengatakan, pemberian remisi harus dimaknai bukan saja sebagai pemberian hak kepada warga binaan pemasyarakatan, tetapi juga merupakan apresiasi Negara terhadap warga binaan yang telah menunjukan perubahan perilaku, memperbaiki kualitas dan meningkatkan kompetensi diri dengan mengembangkan ketrampila untuk dapat hidup mandiri serta menumbuhkan dan mengambangkan usahanya dalam rangka membangun perekonomian.
“Pemberian remisi tidak melihat dari hukuman yang diberikan, maupun perbuatan melawan hukum apa yang dilakukan, melainkan perbuatan dan kepatuhan selama dalam lembaga pemasyarakatan,” kata Bupati.
Bupati berharap melalui pemberian remisi, seluruh warga binaan agar selalu patuh dan taat pada hukum atau norma yang ada sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab baik kepada Tuhan Maha Pencipta maupun sesama.
“Saya mengucapkan selamat kepada warga binaan yang mendapatkan remisi, khususnya yang bebas. Saya minta kepada saudara, untuk kembali kepada keluarga serta bersosialisasi kembali dengan baik, agar keberadaannya dapat diterima masyarakat,” katanya
Sementara itu, salah satu penerima remisi bebas, Suryadi mengaku bersyukur karena bisa kembali ke keluarga.
