Ketua Komisi II DPR, Ahmad Doli Kurnia mengatakan pihaknya sudah menyiapkan dua opsi dalam rangka menindaklanjuti rencana mengevaluasi pilkada langsung.
Opsi pertama yakni pemilihan langsung hanya akan berlaku pada pemilihan kepala daerah level kabupaten/kota, sementara tingkat provinsi, dilakukan oleh DPRD.
Opsi kedua, pemilihan langsung hanya akan dilakukan di daerah tertentu, disebut sebagai pilkada asimetris.
