Demi Kesejehtaraan Petani, HBK Perjuangkan NTB Jadi Penyangga Program Food Estate

JAKARTA, WWW.BERITATERKINI.CO.ID, Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto menerima courtesy call (kunjungan kehormatan) beberapa anggota DPR RI membahas program Food Estate di sejumlah wilayah di Indonesia, Selasa (4/8), di Gedung Kemenhan RI, Jakarta.

Menghadiri pertemuan itu, Wakil Ketua Komisi I DPR RI yang juga Ketua Badan Pengawas dan Disiplin (BPD) Partai Gerindra, H. Bambang Kristiono, SE mengusulkan langsung ke Menhan Prabowo Subianto agar Lombok masuk menjadi salah satu daerah penyangga untuk program Food Estate tersebut.

Program Food Estate adalah konsep mewujudkan ketahanan pangan melalui integrasi pertanian, perkebunan, dan peternakan. Program tersebut akan menjadi salah satu Program Strategis Nasional (PSN) 2020-2024.

Presiden Joko Widodo menunjuk Menhan Prabowo Subianto menjadi pemimpin program Food Estate atau lumbung pangan nasional ini. Awal Juni 2020, Presiden Jokowi bersama Menhan Prabowo Subianto sudah melakukan kunjungan ke Kalimantan Tengah, sebagai lokasi utama program.

H. Bambang Kristiono (HBK) mengatakan, program Food Estate, merupakan perintah sekaligus kebijakan langsung Presiden Jokowi dalam rangka ketahanan pangan, untuk mendukung Badan Cadangan Logistik Strategis.

Menhan sebagai leading sector dalam program ketahanan pangan ini, didukung Menteri-Menteri terkait seperti Mentan dan lain2nya.

Dalam pertemuan coutesy call bersama Menhan Prabowo Subianto, HBK sebagai wakil masyarakat NTB meminta kepada Menhan agar program Food Estate juga bisa dilaksanakan di P. Lombok.

“Diperkirakan ada sekitar 40 ribu Hektar lahan tidur di P. Lombok yang bisa dijadikan daerah pertanian strategis. Kalau program ini berjalan, bisa meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani, mengurangi pengangguran dan menciptakan kemakmuran,” jelas HBK meyakinkan Menhan.

Usulan dan saran HBK tersebut diterima baik oleh Menhan Prabowo Subianto. Kementerian Pertahanan dan kementerian teknis lainnya akan segera menurunkan Tim untuk memeriksa potensi lahan di NTB yang bisa memperkuat program Food Estate ini.

HBK yang merupakan anggota DPR RI dari Dapil P. Lombok, NTB menunjukkan konsistensinya terhadap perjuangannya dalam meningkatkan potensi pertanian di P. Lombok sebagaimana janji saat kampanyenya di Pileg silam.

Melalui program strategis nasional Food Estate ini, HBK berjuang agar masyarakat NTB khususnya para petani bisa ikut berkontribusi dan menikmati dampak ekonomisnya.

“Mudah-mudahan di kurun waktu pengabdian saya sebagai perwakilan masyarakat NTB di DPR RI, Allah SWT senantiasa memberikan kekuatan dan kemampuan kepada saya, untuk berbuat maksimal, yang terbaik, buat masyarakat yang saya wakili,” tegas HBK.

HBK menegaskan, program Food Estate ini akan menjadi prioritas perjuangan dirinya selaku anggota DPR RI walaupun kiprahnya di DPR RI di Komisi I yang membidangi pertahan, intelijen, kominfo dan luar negri.

“Selain memperjuangkan peningkatan status pelabuhan Teluk Awang dari pelabuhan perintis menjadi pelabuhan Nasional, program Food Estate juga akan menjadi konsentrasi perjuangan saya untuk masyarakat NTB,” tukasnya.

Ia memaparkan, potensi NTB sangat besar di sektor pertanian. NTB juga di masa lalu pernah menjadi salah satu daerah lumbung pangan nasional.

HBK memaparkan, Food Estate merupakan konsep pengembangan pangan yang dilakukan secara terintegrasi, mencakup pertanian, perkebunan, bahkan peternakan di suatu kawasan. Rencananya food estate ini akan menjadi salah satu Program Strategis Nasional (PSN).

Program ini menjadi sangat penting terutama di saat pandemi Covid-19 masih terjadi di seluruh belahan dunia.

“Apalagi dengan adanya Covid-19 ini, FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) sudah memperingatkan bahwa kemungkinan terjadi krisis pangan di dunia kedepan sangatlah besar,” ujarnya.

Menurut HBK, dalam kondisi seperti ini, negara2 produsen pangan tidak mau menjual persediaan pangannya sehingga negara2 pengimpor seperti Indonesia bisa saja mengalami krisis.

“Oleh sebab itu diharapkan nanti lahan Food Estate bisa menaikkan cadangan pangan nasional. Dan kita upayakan agar NTB juga bisa berkontribusi dalam program ini,” pungkasnya.
