A. Pendidikan Berbasis Multi Kultural.

Pelopor pendidikan Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai bernama Drs Joni Walker Manik MM. Beliau mengabdi di pemerintahan hingga tanggal 1 Nopember 2020.

Untuk memberi ucapan selamat, handai taulan berdatangan. Ir H Soekirman dan Hj Marliah menyempatkan hadir. Datang pula tamu kehormatan Tengku Ryan Muhammad Novandi. Kebetulan Soekirman – Tengku Ryan Novandi sebagai calon Bupati dan calon Wakil Bupati Sergai. Tokoh LSM Bitra menghadiri untuk mangayu bagya.

Tanggal 2 Desember 2020 pukul 20.00 Pak Joni Walker Manik pantas berbahagia. Acara ini bertempat di Jl Pematang Galang Sei Rampah Sergai. Lampu terang benderang tanda hati gembira riang.

Semasa Pak Joni bertugas sebagai Kepada Dinas Pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan maju pesat. Guru bersemangat mengejar. Murid bersemangat belajar. Guru murid menjalankan hak dan kewajiban. Tupoksi, tugas pokok dan fungsi staf Dinas Pendidikan Sergai menjalin hubungan yang harmonis. Kreasi dan inovasi pendidikan mantab dilakukan secara dinamis.

Untuk memajukan pendidikan Sergai Pak Joni mengandeng Konsultan pendidikan TMC Indonesia. Lembaga konsultan ini dipimpin oleh Taslim Muis MBA CBA. Tiap tahun lembaga Ini memberi analisis pemetaan potensi siswa. Juga mendorong untuk mengembangkan potensi siswa berprestasi.

Dari program ini muncul siswa Sergai yang mencapai prestasi di tingkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara dan Nasional. Misalnya pada tahun 2017-2019 siswa mendapat piagam sebagai pemenang lima besar dalam olimpiade Sain.

Pantas sekali Drs Joni Walker Manik MM mendapat apresiasi. Ir H Soekirman selaku Bupati Sergai tetap berharap. Meskipun sudah purna tugas, Pak Joni diminta terus membantu untuk memajukan pendidikan masyarakat Serdang Bedagai. Ini bentuk kepercayaan yang tinggi. Lebih dari itu, seluruh masyarakat Sergai merasa berhutang budi. Jasa besar ini patut dikenang.

B. Pengabdian Selama Hayat Dikandung Badan.

Perwira tidak mengenal kata pensiun. Demikian pula Drs Joni Walker Manik MM. Tugas formal tak menghentikan gerak langkah perjuangan. Lapangan tugas menanti untuk digarap dengan berbekal pengalaman.

Malam itu segala lapisan sosial menyambut haru. Rata rata menyanjung prestasi gemilang. Jasa Pak Joni begitu berlimpah ruah. Kerja hebat tak lepas dari Bu Joni yang setia mendampingi. Bu Joni merupakan sumber energi untuk pengabdian.

Jabatan informal Pak Joni cukup bergengsi. Drs Joni Walker Manik sebagai ketua PGRI Serdang Bedagai. Cocok dengan profesi guru dan kepala Dinas Pendidikan. Berarti sumbangsih senantiasa berlanjut. Masyarakat Sergai masih punya harapan.

Dalam bidang sosial budaya, Drs Joni Walker Manik didaulat menjadi Ketua Kerabat. Yakni Kerukunan Masyarakat Batak. KERABAT menjadi wadah pengembangan dan pelatihan budaya Batak. Butir butir Kearifan Lokal Batak dapat memperkokoh jati diri bangsa.

Boleh dibilang acara mangayu bagya malam ini cukup sukses. Sukses untuk mengantar Pak Joni, agar berkiprah terus dalam kancah perjuangan yang lebih luas.
